IBM opens at FEUP first CAS in Portugal

IBM and the University of Porto inaugurated on the 27th of April, the first Center of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Portugal, localized in the campus of the Faculty of Engineering (FEUP).

The CAS of the IBM in Portugal is the ninth IBM center of inquiry in Europe and the twentieth around the world, oriented for the excellence of the research applied in Service Science, Management and Engineering (SSME).

Jorge Pinho de Sousa awarded by MIT Portugal

Jorge Pinho de Sousa, professor of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of  Porto (FEUP) and professor of the Master in Service Engineering and Management (MESG), was awarded with the "MIT-PORTUGAL Education Innovation Awards", by the Program Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Portugal (in the Transports Systems area).  Attributed to the professors of the discipline of "Transport Systems Analysis" of the master program in "Complex Transport Infrastructure Systems", the award represents a form of recognition of the excellent performance of the Portuguese professors in the several areas of the MIT Portugal Program.
